Ostia Antica, the harbor city of ancient Rome, is an essential site, less famous and frequented than it deserves, especially because of its incredible state of preservations.
It was the most important port during the Imperial Period, the necessities of Roman life were delivered through this ancient city. Here, grains/ food were delivered and stored – later to be transported to Rome.
We will visit the famous remains from the ancient taverns (which offered cheap and simple food and wine), storage places, as well as imposing baths, theaters, condominiums and small sanctuaries.
